From Kiel to Rastatt \u2013 The Beginning of a Success Story<\/strong><\/p>\n BALLERSTAEDT’s history began on February 1, 1946, in Kiel. Founded by G\u00fcnther Ballerstaedt, Helmut Galster, Heinz L\u00fctzenkirchen, and Engelbert Rohwedder, the company initially manufactured chemicals for the watchmaking industry and quickly established a reputation for reliability, quality, and close customer relationships. Just ten years later, in 1956, the company relocated to Rastatt \u2013 a decisive step that laid the foundation for its continued growth.<\/p>\n In the 1960s, glass containers for watchmaking chemicals were replaced by plastic packaging. However, the new closures proved to be insufficiently leak-proof. To solve this problem, BALLERSTAEDT developed its first aluminum sealing lids together with matching sealing machines.
